Single Dormitory

Regular faculty, staff, and security guards (not including those in affiliated organizations) of NTU who have not received government-subsidized housing (including receiving interest or loan subsidies or purchasing favorable-priced government housing) may apply for rental of a single dormitory room if they do not have a spouse or are living in a previously assigned multiroom dormitory, however, without a spouse, under-aged children, parents, or adult children with disabilities. Every year in March, June, September, and December, starting from the 1st and ending on the 5th (postponed to the next workday in case of a holiday), the Faculty & Staff Housing Division will post a list of available rooms on its website, which will be renewed if there are additional rooms available after the first-round assignment. The applicant having signed a contract must move in. The university conducts faculty residence visit twice a year in accord with the regulations to ensure proper management of the faculty housing.

Favorable Mortgage for Civil Servant

To follow the Overall Housing Policy of the Executive Yuan, the Civil Service Housing and Welfare Committee (the Committee) discontinued allocating budget for the Central Civil Servant Housing Mortgage Fund since 2006. Launched in November 2006, the Favorable Mortgage for Civil Servant continues to finance civil servants for buying and repairing homes on the premise of not increasing the government’s fiscal burden. The Committee appoints the financial institution with the lowest mortgage interests as the mortgage provider through an open selection process and notifies all domestic civil servants and employees of public enterprises of the matter for their reference as a way to compensate for the original government subsidy. The Property Management Division will administer automatic payroll deduction for any new faculty member who had worked in other government sectors and registered for the government mortgage subsidy before 2005 once received notice from the Personnel Department.
