Flexible Salary

NTU provides flexible salary or additional pay as incentives for special outstanding talent in accordance with the “NTU Guidelines on the Payment of Flexible Salary and Incentives for Recruiting and Retaining Special Outstanding Talent.”

1. Subsidy recipients can be divided into the following five categories:

  • Those who meet the criteria specified in Article 3 of NTU’s Lecture Establishment Guidelines.
  • Those who meet the criteria specified in Article 2 of NTU’s Guidelines for the Establishment of Distinguished Professorships and the Payment of Additional Salary.
  • Those who meet the criteria specified in Article 2 of NTU’s Operational Guidelines for Flexible Additional Pay to Teaching and Research Faculty.
  • Those who meet the criteria specified in Article 2 of NTU’s Operational Guidelines for the Payment of Additional Teaching and Research Stipends to Teaching and Research Faculty.
  • Those who meet the criteria specified in Article 3 of NTU’s Operational Directions for Offering Incentives for Newly Employed Special Outstanding Talent.

2. Incentive points are calculated and granted according to the aforementioned guidelines and directions (Note: Point conversion rate is adjusted according to the budget of the year).

The incentives, funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), for the recruitment of special outstanding talent are granted according to the “NTU Operational Directions for Offering Incentives to Newly Employed Special Outstanding Talent” (recipients of flexible additional pay and teaching/research additional pay are not entitled to apply):

1. Newly employed full-time teaching/research faculty within the establishment of NTU who meet any of the following criteria may apply for the incentives:

  • Have not held or do not hold a full-time teaching or research position within the establishment of a domestic academic research institution
  • Have not held or do not hold a full-time teaching or research position within the establishment of a domestic academic research institution

2. Incentive amounts:

  • Professor (Senior Research Fellow): No less than NT$80,000 per month
  • Associate Professor (Associate Research Fellow): No less than NT$60,000 per month
  • Assistant Professor (Assistant Research Fellow): No less than NT$30,000 per month
