Flexible Salary

  1. NTU provides flexible salary and additional pay to faculty members with outstanding performance in accordance with the NTU Guidelines on the Payment of Flexible Salary and Incentives for Recruiting and Retaining Special Outstanding Talent.(1) The following are eligible incentive recipients:
    1. Those who meet the criteria specified in Article 3 of the NTU Regulations for the Establishment of Chair Professorships.
    2. Those who meet the criteria specified in Article 2 of the NTU Guidelines for the Establishment of Distinguished Professorships and the Payment of Additional Salary.
    3. Those who meet the criteria specified in Article 2 of the NTU Operational Guidelines for Flexible Additional Pay to Faculty and Research Fellows.
    4. Those who meet the criteria specified in Article 2 of the NTU Operational Guidelines for the Payment of Additional Teaching and Research Stipends to Faculty and Research Fellows.
    5. Those who meet the criteria specified in Article 3 of the NTU Operational Directions for Offering Incentives for Newly Employed Special Outstanding Talent.

    (2) Incentive points are calculated and granted according to the aforementioned guidelines and directions.

    1. Professor (Senior Research Fellow): Not less than NT$80,000 per month
    2. Associate Professor (Associate Research Fellow): Not less than NT$60,000 per monthThe incentives for recruiting special outstanding talent are funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) and granted according to the NTU Operational Directions for Offering Incentives to Newly Employed Special Outstanding Talent (recipients of flexible additional pay and teaching/research additional pay are not eligible):(1) Newly employed full-time faculty/research fellows on regular payroll at NTU who meet any of the following criteria may apply for the incentives:
      1. Having not held or currently not holding a full-time teaching or research position on regular payroll at a domestic academic research institution.
      2. Having held a position at a foreign academic research institution for five years prior to joining NTU.

      (2) Incentive amounts:

      1. Professor (Senior Research Fellow): Not less than NT$80,000 per month
      2. Associate Professor (Associate Research Fellow): Not less than NT$60,000 per month
      3. Assistant Professor (Assistant Research Fellow): Not less than NT$30,000 per month (it is currently NT$40,000)
