1F, NTU Agricultural Exhibition Hall Domestic wood is a sustainable and renewable ecological material (eco-material) characterized by low processing, low energy consumption, low CO2 emissions, low pollution, natural decomposition, and reusability.

To celebrate NTU’s 91st anniversary, NTU Agricultural Exhibition Hall will hold a domestic wood DIY activity, where a limited number of DIY domestic wood packages will be provided for participants to handcraft small wooden chair stools by a traditional jointing process with the guidance of master carpenters.

Join us in experiencing the beauty of domestic wood and the ingenuity of the woodworking process.

4 sessions (10:00, 11:00, 13:00, 14:00), each for 25 participants at most.

Fee: Each participant will be charged with ingredient costs.

Rice DIY Activities for Elementary School Students 2019/11/15-11/16

NTU Agricultural Exhibition Hall The purpose of food and agriculture education is to reconnect people with food and land, enabling them to learn more about how the food they eat comes from. NTU Agricultural Exhibition Hall hosts “Flying Birds on Fields: A Special Exhibition on Friendly Food and Agriculture.” As, rice is the staple crop in Taiwan, we offer two rice-related DIY sessions for elementary school students to gain more knowledge about rice through exhibition content and the exper77ience of pounding glutinous rice (or grinding rice).

2 sessions available during 14:00-16:00

Registration: Sign up online, two sessions (14:00-16:00 on 11/15 and 11/16), each for a maximum of 20 participants.

Fee: NT$250 per person

Qualification: Elementary school students in grades 4-6

Under-Forest Economy – Lectures and DIY Activities on Honey and Jelly Fig 2019/11/16

NTU Agricultural Exhibition Hall This activity centers on the well-known drink “honey and fig jelly.” By revealing the relationship between bees, honey, jelly fig, and ecology, we illustrate the importance of bees to plant diversity, ecological balance, and ecological restoration.

During the DIY sessions, participants get to make the drink themselves and take home a jar of honey with them at the end of the event.

2 DIY sessions at 10:00 and 14:00 each

Flying Birds on Fields: A Special Exhibition on Friendly Food and Agriculture From now on, Mon.-Sat., 09:00-17:00 2F, NTU Agricultural Exhibition Hall During the exhibition, NTU Agricultural Exhibition Hall presents three cases of food and agriculture education, two from Taiwan and one about the Oriental stork in Toyooka, Japan. Eco-friendly farming methods are also exhibited to educate the public about food sources and production processes.
