Exhibition – Tree Rings: History of NTU Experimental Forest 2014/11/5-2015/9/30
Gallery of NTU History		 2014 marks the 113th anniversary of the founding of the NTU Experimental Forest, which was originally affiliated with the Faculty of Agriculture of Tokyo Imperial University. During the presidency of Ssu-nien Fu in 1949, the forest was allocated to NTU. The forest occupies a massive area, which in its entirety is over 320,000 hectares, or equivalent to 96% of the whole university campus. This astounding figure does not raise its profile among the Taida people. In fact, “Xitou,” one of its six forestry stations, is sometime mistaken as the whole of the forestland. Meanwhile, the “University Pond“ in “Xitou“ is also much well-known to the masses. In this context, on Nov 5 the Gallery will inaugurate a special exhibition on this forest in the Chuan Lyu Exhibition Hall, to put the spotlight upon the piece of land in Central Taiwan that has nourished countless trees and generations of talents. B1, GIS NTU Convention Center 		All incoming exchange students will be invited to this event to represent their home universities. The NTU students who have participated in the exchange student programs or the summer programs are also invited to this fair to provide the first-hand news of those universities as well as learning and living experience. The Fair also includes a briefing for those students who plan to take part in either exchange student programs or summer programs. All the details about exchange student programs, visiting student programs, and the summer programs will be provided in this Study Abroad Fair. Students can know better about our study abroad resources.
Furthermore, the OIA has prepared numerous prizes for students, such as scholarship vouchers for our various summer programs (NT$10,000), exchange programs, and English proficiency tests.
